Parent Involvement
North Ingle School and Preschool prides itself on being a community school because it has active and supportive parent groups.
Participation and assistance of parents helps in developing a sense of community. There are many ways in which parents can contribute both to the school and your child’s education.
Classroom Support
We welcome parent participation and support in classrooms. Assistance can be listening to children read, helping with IT lessons, general class organization tasks (i.e. sharpening pencils, sorting readers, support on excursions). Parents need to apply for a Working With Children Check and Responding to Abuse and Neglect training. For further information contact the front desk or the principal.
Assembly
Children look forward to sharing assemblies with their parents and the community. Assemblies are held every third Friday from 8:50am to 9:30am in the school Hall, weeks 3, 6, 9 and on the last day of every term. They showcase work undertaken and celebrate student successes.
Canteen
Our canteen is completely staffed by volunteers which means our healthy food is affordable to all families. Canteen volunteers are always in demand. Please contact the Front Office if you are able to assist in the canteen.
A Working With Children Check is required to volunteer in the Canteen. An appointment with the Principal will need to be arranged to ensure all requirements are met prior to the volunteer commencing at the school.
